How To Make A Water Breathing Potion: Minecraft

Each and every Minecraft session is different with its own secrets to uncover. One of the things that will remain the same in every world is the presence of water. Normally, if you dive below the surface of the water, you’ll see small bubbles appear above your food gauge. This indicates how long you can breathe under water and it doesn’t last long. With the Potion of Water Breathing in Minecraft, you can stay down for 3 minutes or longer.

If you are using pre 1.15, a water bucket will do you wonders. You have to be close to a block where you can dump the water, but if you use a water bucket in water, it takes the water from around your head and will give you a full breath. You can then dump the water against a block and do it again. You can stay down for a very long time as long as you keep doing this.

In any version, using Respiration 3 on your helmet will help give you a longer breath.

If you are using 1.15 or above, you can still use the water bucket or torch trick, but you have to spam (keep right clicking) fast over and over until your breath gets full. It’s annoying, but you can do it.

Also in 1.15+, using a turtle shell for a helmet will give you some extra time underwater.

How to Make a Water Breathing Potion in Minecraft

The Water Breathing Potion is one of the most useful consumables in Minecraft. There are many variations, but each type lets you breathe underwater. This enables you to fight sea monsters, mine underwater regions, and demolish underwater monuments.

1. To begin, open your Brewing stand and place blaze powder in the fuel cell on the left. The powder will burn automatically and start powering the stand.

2. Then, place the Awkward Potion bottles in the bottle cells at the bottom of the stand. You can make three bottles of the Potion of Water Breathing using a single Puffer Fish. Make sure to use the ingredients and the stand to its full potential.

3. Finally, put the Puffer Fish in the middle cell of Brewing Stand next to the arrow. It will start brewing the Awkward Potion into a Potion of Water Breathing automatically.
